ANIMA MUNDI

Galleria Loisti, Helsinki, 10/2024

ANIMA MUNDI was a multisensory exhibition exploring Finnish ancient beliefs, focusing especially on the significance of sacred springs and groves in traditional folklore. The exhibition featured ceramic sculptures by Elena Palomo, wooden sculptures by Heli Juuti, as well as a soundscape created in collaboration with Lasse Pietiläinen (listen HERE).

The atmosphere and sensorial experience of the exhibition were enhanced by a light mist from a smoke machine, carefully chosen incense scents, and candlelight. The space invited visitors to pause before the works, to listen, to smell, and to sense the mysticism of nature. The exhibition was highlighted on Finland’s biggest newspaper Helsingin Sanomat’s weekly exhibition recommendations.
